Ingredients
Scale
- 500 g ground beef
- 1 medium onion, finely sliced
- 2 cloves garlic, minced
- 1 tablespoon olive oil
- 1 pack of taco seasoning (or a mix of paprika, cumin, chili, and oregano)
- Salt and pepper, to taste
- 200 g tortilla chips
- 150 g shredded cheddar cheese (or a mix of Mexican cheeses)
- 1 tomato, diced
- 1 avocado, diced
- Optional: A few sliced black olives
- Sour cream, for serving
- Fresh cilantro, for garnish
Instructions
- In a skillet, heat the olive oil over medium heat.
- Add the sliced onion and minced garlic, sautéing until they turn translucent and fragrant.
- Introduce the ground beef, cooking until it’s beautifully browned. If there’s excess fat, drain it off.
- Stir in the taco seasoning, adding salt and pepper to taste. Mix thoroughly and let simmer for an additional 2-3 minutes.
- Preheat your oven to 180°C (350°F).
- Spread half of the tortilla chips onto a baking sheet.
- Distribute half of the seasoned beef mixture over the chips, followed by a generous sprinkle of shredded cheese.
- Repeat this layering process with the remaining chips, beef, and finish with a layer of cheese on top.
- Place your nachos in the preheated oven and bake for about 10 minutes, until cheese is melted and golden brown.
- Once out of the oven, top with diced tomatoes, avocado, olives (if using), cilantro, and a dollop of sour cream.
- Serve immediately and enjoy!
