Ingredients

For the Apple Fries

  • 2 large large apples (such as Fuji or Gala) Use the freshest apples for best results
  • 1/2 cup all-purpose flour Can substitute with gluten-free flour or almond flour
  • 1 tsp cinnamon
  • 1/4 tsp salt
  • 1 large egg, beaten
  • 2 tbsp sugar
  • 1 tbsp butter, melted For added crispiness
  • 1 tbsp brown sugar (optional) For extra sweetness

Instructions

Preparation

  • Preheat your air fryer to 375°F (190°C).
  • Peel and core the apples, then slice them into thin strips resembling fries.
  • In a small bowl, whisk together the flour, cinnamon, salt, and sugar until evenly mixed.
  • Dip each apple strip into the beaten egg, allowing any excess to drip off before coating in the cinnamon-sugar flour mixture.

Cooking

  • Arrange the apple fries in a single layer in the air fryer basket, ensuring they aren't overlapping.
  • Lightly spray with cooking spray or drizzle with melted butter.
  • Air fry for 8-10 minutes, flipping halfway through for even cooking.
  • Once crispy, remove from the fryer and optionally sprinkle with brown sugar before serving.

Notes

Double-dip apple strips for extra crunch. Try adding nutmeg or vanilla extract for a unique flavor. Store leftovers in an airtight container for up to two days and reheat in the air fryer.
