  • 2 cups marinara sauce A rich, aromatic sauce.
  • 2 cups shredded mozzarella cheese Adds gooey texture.
  • 1 cup ricotta cheese Lends creaminess to the dish.
  • 1/2 cup grated Parmesan cheese Adds savory depth.
  • 1 teaspoon Italian seasoning Enhances flavor.
  • Salt and pepper To taste.

Preparation

  • Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C).
  • Spread a layer of marinara sauce on the bottom of a 9x13-inch baking dish.
  • Place half of the frozen ravioli on top of the sauce, spacing them evenly.
  • Spread half of the ricotta cheese over the ravioli, then sprinkle with one cup of mozzarella cheese.
  • Season with Italian seasoning, salt, and pepper.
  • Add another layer of marinara sauce followed by the remaining ravioli.
  • Dollop the rest of the ricotta cheese and another cup of mozzarella on top.
  • Pour the remaining marinara sauce over this layered masterpiece and sprinkle with Parmesan cheese.

Baking

  • Cover the dish with aluminum foil and bake for 25 minutes.
  • Remove the foil and bake for an additional 15-20 minutes until the cheese is bubbling and golden brown.
  • Let the casserole cool for a few minutes, then garnish with fresh basil.

Notes

Ensure you preheat your oven and layer evenly for best results. For a healthier alternative, consider whole wheat or gluten-free ravioli.
