Instructions

Bake Cake

  • Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
  • In a mixing bowl, combine the yellow cake mix, melted butter, milk, eggs, and vanilla extract. Blend until smooth.
  • Pour the batter into a greased 9x13 inch baking pan, smoothing the top.
  • Bake according to the box instructions, approximately 25-30 minutes, until a toothpick inserted in the center comes out clean.
  • Allow the cake to cool in the pan for about 10 minutes before transferring it to a wire rack to cool completely.

Caramel Toffee Layer

  • While your cake cools, warm the caramel sauce in a small saucepan over low heat, stirring gently.
  • Once it’s nice and pourable, remove it from the heat and stir in the toffee bits.
  • Carefully drizzle the caramel toffee mixture over the cooled cake, allowing it to soak in for maximum flavor.

Top Cake

  • Once the caramel layer has slightly cooled and thickened, spread the whipped cream generously on top.
  • Sprinkle the crushed toffee evenly over the cream.
  • Finish with an extra drizzle of caramel sauce that cascades down the sides.

Serve

  • For the best flavor, refrigerate the cake for at least an hour before serving.

Notes

Ensure your ingredients are at room temperature for smooth mixing. Use parchment paper in your baking pan for easy cake removal. Don’t rush the cooling stage; it's essential for a clean slice.
