For the coating

  • 1/2 cup crispy breadcrumbs Provides crunchy texture.

Preparation

  • Preheat your oven to 400°F (200°C).
  • In a large mixing bowl, combine the mashed potatoes, cheddar cheese, Parmesan cheese, sour cream, egg, garlic powder, onion powder, and a sprinkle of salt and pepper.
  • Shape the potato mixture into small balls, about 1 to 2 inches in diameter.
  • Roll each ball in breadcrumbs to coat evenly.
  • Place the coated puffs on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper.
  • Lightly spray or brush the potato puffs with cooking spray or oil.

Baking

  • Bake the puffs in the preheated oven for 20-25 minutes until golden brown and crispy.
  • Remove from the oven and let the puffs cool slightly before serving.

Notes

Ensure mashed potatoes are lump-free for best texture. Don't overcrowd the baking sheet to avoid steaming. Let puffs rest before serving for intensified flavor.
