Ingredients

For the filling

  • 1 lb ground beef or turkey browned to perfection
  • 1 packet taco seasoning introduces vibrant spices
  • 1 cup shredded cheese sharp cheddar or creamy Mexican blend
  • 1/2 cup salsa adds tang and moisture
  • 1/4 cup sliced black olives optional, for briny depth
  • 1/4 cup chopped green onions for garnishing
  • 1 can Pillsbury™ refrigerated crescent rolls for wrapping the filling
  • 1 spray cooking spray for greasing the baking sheet

Instructions

Preparation

  • Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C).
  • Grease a baking sheet with cooking spray.
  • In a skillet over medium heat, brown the ground beef or turkey until cooked through.
  • Drain any excess fat, then stir in the taco seasoning and salsa. Allow to simmer for 2-3 minutes, then remove from heat.
  • Unroll the crescent roll dough and lay out the triangles.
  • Place a generous spoonful of the taco meat mixture at the wide end of each triangle, followed by a sprinkle of shredded cheese and, optionally, sliced black olives.
  • Roll each triangle up tightly from the wide end, ensuring the filling is tucked in, then place seam-side down on the greased baking sheet.
  • Bake in the preheated oven for 12-15 minutes, until golden brown.
  • Let them cool slightly before serving, garnished with chopped green onions.

Notes

Allow the crescent rolls to rest at room temperature for about 10 minutes before rolling to ensure even baking. Avoid overstuffing the rolls to prevent spillage while baking.
