Instructions
 

Preparation

  • In a mixing bowl, add 2 cups of heavy cream.
  • Pour in 1 cup of whole milk.
  • Whisk in 1/2 cup of sugar until dissolved.
  • Add 1 tablespoon of cherry blossom syrup and 1 teaspoon of vanilla extract.
  • Stir in a few drops of pink food coloring if desired.

Churning

  • Pour the mixture into an ice cream maker and churn according to the manufacturer's instructions.
  • Just before finishing, add 1/2 cup of chopped maraschino cherries.

Freezing

  • Transfer the mixture to a container, seal, and freeze for at least 4 hours, or until solid.

Notes

For a healthier option, substitute heavy cream with full-fat coconut milk or Greek yogurt. Common mistakes include under-churning leading to iceiness or not letting freeze long enough for ideal texture.
