Ingredients

Fries

  • 28 oz bag of frozen fries Alternatively, use homemade French fries.
  • 4 cups vegetable oil For frying the fries.

Cheese

  • 6 oz cheese curds Traditional choice; cubed mozzarella can be used as an alternative.

Gravy

  • 1 batch homemade brown gravy Or use a convenient packet.

Instructions

Prepare the French Fries

  • If using homemade French fries, cut and fry them until golden and crispy. If using frozen fries, bake them according to package instructions.
  • For extra crispiness, fry the fries at 300°F until cooked through, then increase the heat to 400°F and fry until golden brown.

Add the Cheese

  • Preheat your oven to 350°F. Arrange the fries on a baking sheet, sprinkle with cheese curds, and bake for 10-15 minutes until melted and bubbly.

Prepare the Gravy

  • While fries are baking, prepare the gravy according to your chosen recipe or packet instructions.

Assembly

  • Once fries and cheese are ready, drizzle hot gravy generously over the dish and serve immediately.

Notes

Fry the fries twice for extra crunch. Choose quality, fresh cheese curds or high-quality mozzarella for the best results. Experiment with different gravy options or toppings for added flavor.
