  • 1/4 cup tartar sauce creamy and tangy

  • Heat oil in a heavy-bottomed pot or deep fryer to 350°F (175°C).

  • Gradually add cold soda water to dry ingredients, mixing until a smooth batter forms.
  • Dip fresh cod fillets into the batter, coating them thoroughly.

Breading and Frying

  • Roll the battered cod fillets in panko breadcrumbs.
  • Fry coated cod fillets in hot oil for about 4 minutes on each side, or until golden brown and crispy.

Assembling the Sandwich
