Ice Cream Base

  • 2 cups heavy cream Forms the rich base of the ice cream.
  • 1 cup whole milk Adds creaminess.
  • 3/4 cup granulated sugar Balances flavors.
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract Enhances overall taste.
  • 1 cup Baileys Irish Cream Essential for the creamy flavor.
  • 1/4 cup cocoa powder Provides chocolate flavor.

Instructions
 

Preparation

  • In a medium saucepan, combine the heavy cream, whole milk, and granulated sugar. Heat over medium heat, stirring occasionally until the sugar is dissolved and the mixture is warm.
  • In a small bowl, whisk the cocoa powder with a splash of the warm milk mixture until smooth. Then add this cocoa mixture back to the saucepan and stir well.
  • Remove the saucepan from heat and stir in the vanilla extract and Baileys Irish Cream.
  • Allow the mixture to cool to room temperature, then refrigerate for at least 2 hours or overnight.

Churning

  • Pour the cooled mixture into an ice cream maker and churn according to the manufacturer's instructions, usually for about 20-25 minutes.

Freezing

  • Transfer the ice cream to an airtight container and freeze for a minimum of 4 hours or until firm enough for serving.

Serving

  • Scoop out the ice cream, serve, and enjoy!

Notes

Tips: Make sure your ice cream maker bowl is frozen before churning. For additional texture, consider folding in crushed cookies or chocolate chips during the last minutes of churning. Pair with brownies, chocolate cake, or fresh berries.
