For the Rice Stack

  • 1/2 avocado sliced Offering creaminess.
  • 1 tbsp sesame seeds Providing a nutty crunch.
  • 1/4 cup green onions, chopped For a burst of color.
  • 1 tbsp gochujang (Korean chili paste) Elevating the spice level.

Preparation

  • Mix the soy sauce, sesame oil, honey, minced garlic, rice vinegar, grated ginger, and a pinch of salt and pepper in a bowl.
  • Add the sliced beef to the marinade, ensuring each piece is well-coated. If time allows, marinate for at least 30 minutes.
  • Prepare your rice. Make sure it’s warm and fluffy.

Cooking

  • Heat a grill or skillet over medium-high heat.
  • Once hot, cook the marinated beef for about 2-3 minutes on each side, or until browned and cooked to your desired doneness.

Assembly

  • Start with a generous serving of cooked rice on a plate or in a bowl.
  • Layer on the grilled beef slices, then add the fresh cucumber slices and creamy avocado on top.
  • Drizzle gochujang over the stack and finish by garnishing with sesame seeds and chopped green onions.

Notes

For even more depth, add fresh herbs such as cilantro or mint. To elevate the garnishing, sprinkle some toasted sesame seeds or additional scallions before serving. Marinating your beef overnight enhances taste and tenderness.
