Ingredients
  

Cabbage Base

  • 1 small head small head of cabbage, cut into thick slices

Meat Filling

  • 1.5 lbs ground beef (or ground turkey for a lighter option)
  • 1 small onion, finely chopped
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 tsp salt
  • 0.5 tsp black pepper
  • 1 tsp smoked paprika
  • 1 tsp Worcestershire sauce
  • 0.5 cup shredded cheese (cheddar, mozzarella, or your favorite)
  • 2 tbsp olive oil
  • 1 large egg (optional) Can be omitted for a lighter dish.

Instructions
 

Preparation

  • Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C).
  • Prepare the cabbage by slicing it into thick rounds and brushing both sides with olive oil.
  • In a bowl, mix together ground beef (or turkey), chopped onions, minced garlic, salt, black pepper, smoked paprika, Worcestershire sauce, and the egg (if using).
  • Form patties from the meat mixture and press them onto the cabbage slices.
  • Arrange the cabbage burgers on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper.

Baking

  • Bake for about 25 minutes or until the meat is cooked through.
  • Remove from the oven and add cheese on top of each burger.
  • Broil for an additional 3-5 minutes until the cheese is melted and bubbly.

Serving

  • Serve hot, garnished with fresh herbs or your favorite sauce.

Notes

For added flavor, consider using different spices or herbs in the filling. For a spicy kick, add a pinch of cayenne pepper. Experiment with different cheeses or leafy greens for variations.
