Ingredients

Main Ingredients

  • 1.5 cups fresh lemon juice Bright, zesty, and bursting with flavor.
  • 1 cup granulated sugar Sweetness that perfectly balances the sour notes of lemon.
  • 1 cup water Essential for creating a refreshing, slushy texture.
  • 0.5 cup cranberry juice Adds beautiful color and a touch of fruity tartness.
  • 1 teaspoon lemon zest For an extra hint of lemony aromatic bliss.
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract Enhances the flavor profile subtly.
  • 0.5 cup heavy cream Optional for a creamier version.

Instructions

Preparation

  • In a medium saucepan over medium heat, combine water and sugar, stirring occasionally until the sugar completely dissolves to create a simple syrup. Remove from heat and let cool to room temperature.
  • Once the syrup has cooled, mix in the fresh lemon juice, cranberry juice, lemon zest, and vanilla extract. Stir until well combined. If you prefer a creamier texture, add heavy cream now.

Freezing

  • Pour the mixture into a shallow dish or a freezer-safe container. Freeze, stirring every 30 minutes for about 3-4 hours until it achieves a slushy texture.

Serving

  • Once frozen, serve the sorbet immediately or transfer it to an airtight container for later. Garnish with lemon zest or fresh mint leaves if desired.

Notes

Chill ingredients before mixing for smoother texture. Experiment with sweeteners like honey or agave syrup for lower sugar options. You can also add fresh berries or herbs for added flavor.
