Ingredients

For the Lobster Tails

  • 4 pieces 10-oz Lobster tails Fresh and flavorful, these tails are the star of the show.
  • 1/4 cup Salted butter (melted) Adds luxurious richness to the dish.
  • 2 cloves Garlic (crushed) Enhances the flavor profile with its aromatic qualities.
  • 2 teaspoons Lemon juice A zesty note that brightens the lobster meat.
  • 1/2 teaspoon Smoked paprika Infuses a mildly spicy, smoky flavor.
  • 1 pinch Cayenne pepper Provides a surprising kick that complements the sweetness of the lobster.

Instructions

Preparation

  • Thaw the lobster tails if frozen, either overnight in the fridge or in a bag submerged in cold water for about 30 minutes.
  • Preheat your oven to Broil (500 degrees F or 260 degrees C).
  • Butterfly the lobster tails by cutting down the center of the shell lengthwise, and gently pull the lobster meat upward while keeping it attached at the tail fin.
  • In a small bowl, combine melted butter, crushed garlic, lemon juice, smoked paprika, and cayenne pepper. Whisk until fully mixed.

Cooking

  • Place the butterflied lobster tails on a baking sheet and generously brush the butter mixture over the lobster meat.
  • Broil the tails for about 1 minute per ounce, ensuring they don’t overcook. For 10-ounce tails, broil for approximately 10 minutes.

Notes

For elevated flavor, consider using fresh garlic and real butter. Control doneness by watching closely as lobster broils. Serve with dipping sauces like melted garlic butter or lemon-garlic aioli.
