Ingredients
  

For the cake

  • 21 oz 1 can (21 oz) strawberry pie filling
  • 15.25 oz 1 box (15.25 oz) white cake mix
  • 0.5 cup 1/2 cup (1 stick) unsalted butter, melted

For the cream cheese layer

  • 8 oz 8 oz cream cheese, softened
  • 0.25 cup 1/4 cup granulated sugar
  • 1 tsp 1 tsp vanilla extract
  • 0.25 cup 1/4 cup powdered sugar (for dusting, optional) Optional for dusting before serving

Instructions
 

Preparation

  • Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease a 9×13-inch baking dish.
  • Spread the strawberry pie filling evenly across the bottom of the prepared baking dish.
  • In a mixing bowl, beat the softened cream cheese, granulated sugar, and vanilla extract until smooth and creamy.
  • Drop spoonfuls of the cream cheese mixture evenly over the strawberry pie filling.

Baking

  • Sprinkle the dry white cake mix over the cream cheese layer.
  • Drizzle the melted butter over the top of the cake mix.
  • Bake in the preheated oven for 45–50 minutes, until the top is golden and the cake is set.

Serving

  • Remove from the oven and let it cool for a few minutes.
  • Dust with powdered sugar (if desired) before serving.

Notes

For added flavor, consider adding lemon zest to the cream cheese mixture. You can also use raspberry or blueberry pie filling as a variation. Best served warm with vanilla ice cream or whipped cream.
