Instructions
 

Preparation

  • Preheat your oven to 300°F (150°C).
  • Line your baking sheets with parchment paper.
  • Sift the powdered sugar and almond flour together in a large bowl.
  • In a clean bowl, beat the egg whites with cream of tartar until soft peaks form.
  • Gradually add the granulated sugar while beating the egg whites until stiff peaks form.
  • Stir in the vanilla extract and add pink food coloring to achieve desired shade.
  • Gently fold in the sifted almond flour and powdered sugar mixture into the egg whites.
  • Transfer the batter into a piping bag and pipe small circles onto the prepared baking sheets.
  • Tap the baking sheets gently on the countertop to release air bubbles.
  • Allow the macarons to sit at room temperature for 30 to 60 minutes until they form a skin.

Baking

  • Bake the macarons in the preheated oven for 15 to 18 minutes.

Filling Preparation

  • Beat the softened butter with powdered sugar until fluffy.
  • Mix in the strawberry jam to create the filling.

Assembly

  • Pipe the strawberry filling onto the flat side of half the macarons, sandwiching them with the other half.

Notes

Remember to age the egg whites a day in advance for better results. Use a kitchen scale for precise measurements and do not skip the resting phase before baking.
