  • to taste Salt and pepper Essential seasonings that enhance the natural flavors
  • 2 tablespoons olive oil Helps prevent the steaks from sticking
  • 3 tablespoons butter Adds richness and flavor
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced Infuses the dish with warmth
  • 1 tablespoon fresh thyme, chopped Brings freshness
  • 1 tablespoon fresh rosemary, chopped Imparts a fragrant flavor

Instructions

Preparation

  • Remove the steaks from the refrigerator 30 minutes before cooking to allow them to come to room temperature.
  • Generously season both sides of the steaks with salt and pepper.

Cooking

  • Heat olive oil in a heavy skillet over high heat until it’s very hot.
  • Place the steaks in the skillet; cook for 4-5 minutes on each side for medium-rare, or until they reach your desired doneness.
  • Halfway through cooking, add the butter, minced garlic, thyme, and rosemary to the skillet. Continuously baste the steaks with the flavorful mixture as the butter melts.
  • Once the steaks are cooked to perfection, remove them and let them rest for 5 minutes before slicing.

Notes

Use a meat thermometer to check for doneness—aim for 135°F for medium-rare, 145°F for medium. Don't overcrowd the skillet; cook in batches if necessary. Experiment with different herbs for varied flavor profiles.
