Base Ingredients

  • 2 cups heavy cream Forms the creamy base for smooth texture.
  • 1 cup whole milk Adds richness to the ice cream.
  • 3/4 cup granulated sugar Sweetens the mixture.
  • 1 tbsp vanilla extract Enhances the flavor.
  • a pinch of salt Balances sweetness.
  • 1/2 cup white chocolate chips or chunks Adds bursts of sweetness.

Optional Ingredients

  • a few drops of red food coloring For a red velvet twist.

Instructions
 

Preparation

  • In a large mixing bowl, whisk together the heavy cream, whole milk, granulated sugar, vanilla extract, and a pinch of salt until the sugar has completely dissolved.
  • If desired, stir in a few drops of red food coloring to give your ice cream a velvet hue.
  • Cover the bowl and chill it in the refrigerator for at least one hour.

Churning

  • Pour the chilled mixture into your ice cream maker and churn according to the manufacturer’s instructions.
  • In the last five minutes of churning, add in the white chocolate chips or chunks.

Freezing

  • Transfer the churned ice cream to an airtight container and freeze until firm.

Notes

Chill your equipment (bowl and ice cream maker) before use for better texture. Customize flavors by adding crushed cookies or fruit preserves.
