Ingredients
  

For the dressing

  • 1/2 cup heavy whipping cream
  • 1/4 cup mayonnaise

For the salad

  • 1 cup diced Granny Smith apples, cored with the skin left on
  • 1 cup diced Gala apples, cored with the skin left on
  • 3/4 cup finely diced celery
  • 1/2 cup halved green seedless grapes plus 3 to 4 extra halved grapes for garnish
  • 1/2 cup halved red seedless grapes plus 3 to 4 extra halved grapes for garnish
  • 1/2 cup chopped walnuts
  • 1 tablespoon lemon juice
  • 1 tablespoon granulated sugar

Instructions
 

Dressing Preparation

  • In a medium-sized mixing bowl, beat the heavy whipping cream at high speed until stiff peaks form.
  • Gently fold in the mayonnaise until well combined and set aside.

Salad Preparation

  • In a large mixing bowl, combine the diced Granny Smith and Gala apples, finely diced celery, halved green and red grapes, and chopped walnuts.
  • Sprinkle the lemon juice and granulated sugar over the apple mixture and stir thoroughly to coat the apples.
  • Gently fold in the creamy dressing, ensuring thorough coating.
  • Cover the bowl tightly and refrigerate for at least one hour.

Serving

  • Garnish the salad with the reserved halved grapes right before serving.

Notes

For added flavor, consider spices such as cinnamon or nutmeg. You can also add dried cranberries or swap walnuts with pecans. For a lighter version, substitute Greek yogurt for mayonnaise. Choose the freshest ingredients for the best taste.
